On Friday, June 17th, at Rochester airfield, Gerry Speich, founder of RotorSport UK Ltd and Sales and Service Ltd, and CCO of AutoGyro GmbH, was very, very, proud to hand over the first full commercial-use CavalonPRO to Keith Harding, CEO of BeyondHD – specialist film company, based at Pinewood studios (http://www.beyondhd.tv/).

This superb aircraft, G-CPLG, is fitted with an AutoGyro designed nose mounting for the state-of-the-art Dynamic Perspective Dyna X5 gimbal system for aerial filming. This UK CAA approved mounting system allows the gimbal to be lowered some 270mm in flight, giving a huge viewing arc of nearly 360 degrees in the horizontal plane under the aircraft, as well as in front of the aircraft.

Keith accepted the keys with a huge grin, with Kai Maurer looking on – Kai will be the first UK gyro pilot operating commercially, and spent several hours with Gerry Speich learning about the class leading improvements that the PRO features, together with the operational requirements for the camera mounting system.

The AutoGyro and RotorSport team wish them good luck with the aircraft, and look forward to seeing the aircraft operating commercially – this is the only gyroplane in the world with a full ICAO-compliant commercial Certificate of Airworthiness, and we are together forging a path into the future.
